Vercel adds custom monitors to Observability
Vercel announced custom monitors in Vercel Observability, which send alerts based on query results. Each monitor tracks a single metric or a ratio of two metrics, using either statistical anomaly detection or a fixed threshold, with configurable detection window, filters, and grouping.

Why it matters
Builders can set alerts on signals such as AI Gateway costs, Core Web Vitals, workflow and external API failure rates, and Vercel Sandbox CPU time. Custom monitors are available on Pro and Enterprise plans with Observability Plus, priced at $0.0035 per GB of data scanned.
Who should care
Teams running production apps on Vercel, developers managing AI Gateway costs, and operators monitoring performance and API reliability.
What you can do
Open an existing chart's query in Vercel Observability or start from a preset, then create a monitor under Settings > Alerts with a fixed threshold on an error-rate ratio.
