Vercel improves IP geolocation granularity and refresh frequency
Vercel now resolves visitor locations at finer network granularity, providing city-level data for nearly all requests and postal-code data for 90% of traffic. Geolocation data is refreshed more often and the update is enabled for all projects without code or configuration changes.

Why it matters
Some visitors, especially those using VPNs, hosting providers, or leased IP ranges, may now resolve to a different city or country, which can affect access controls, localization, and compliance rules that depend on geolocation. Subnets announced from a hosting provider in a different country than their registry record now resolve to the actual data center location.
Who should care
Ecommerce brands, SaaS developers, teams using geo-based access controls, localization, or compliance logic on Vercel
What you can do
Re-test any geo-dependent routes or access rules on Vercel Functions and Routing Middleware against the new location data, using the geolocation() helper and request headers documentation.
