Vercel Routing Middleware now supports Python
Vercel announced that Routing Middleware now supports Python, for frameworks including FastAPI, Flask, and Django. Middleware runs before requests reach the app and can rewrite, redirect, or respond to them, and is configured by pointing a proxy entrypoint in vercel.toml at a middleware app.

Why it matters
Python teams deploying on Vercel can now handle request routing, redirects, and rewrites at the edge in Python rather than only in JavaScript or framework config. Middleware runs as a separate ASGI or WSGI app with its own dependency group in pyproject.toml, so its imports must be declared there.
Who should care
Python developers deploying FastAPI, Flask, or Django apps on Vercel; ecommerce and content site builders who rely on redirects or path-based routing
What you can do
Read the Routing Middleware Python reference, then add a proxy entrypoint to vercel.toml and declare the vercel-proxy package plus any middleware imports in the middleware dependency group of pyproject.toml.
