Ampersand from Humans& now available on Vercel AI Gateway
Ampersand, a language model from Humans&, is now available on Vercel AI Gateway with model name humansand/ampersand-v0.1, free through November 13, 2026. The model is designed for group conversations and decides on each turn whether to speak or stay quiet, using caller-defined send_message and pass function tools.
Why it matters
Builders can add a group-chat participant that decides when to respond, which requires handling tool calls, sequential per-conversation processing, and durable storage of responses and delivery receipts. AI Gateway reports no markup and no platform fee on inference, including BYOK requests.
