Vercel Sandbox with Drives now starts faster
Vercel announced that Vercel Sandboxes that mount Drives now start faster, with median creation time dropping from 1.7s to 0.7s and p95 dropping from 2.2s to 1.6s. The speedup applies automatically to all sandboxes using Drives, with no SDK upgrade or configuration change required, and pricing is unchanged.

Why it matters
Sandbox startup time affects how quickly agents, previews, or per-request code execution can run. Lower creation latency reduces wait time for users and can lower compute cost for short-lived workloads, with no migration work needed.
Who should care
Developers building on Vercel Sandbox, teams running AI agents or code execution workloads, and platform engineers using Vercel Drives.
What you can do
Measure your current sandbox creation times with Drives mounted, then compare them against the new median and p95 figures to confirm the improvement in your own workload.
